Need Help?
If you want to request that the Georgia Innocence Project review
a post-conviction case, please write us.
- The request must be in writing. We cannot initiate an inquiry
based on a telephone call or an e-mail.
- The request must be made by the person convicted of the crime.
We will not review a case based solely on information sent by
a friend or a family member.
- You must write clearly and legibly.
- Explain your case briefly. Include information about the crime
(facts of crime), whether it was a trial or guilty plea, and
what is currently going on with your case.
- Explain what DNA evidence (blood, semen, hair, saliva, etc.)
might exist to prove the identity of the person who committed
the crime.
- Explain how this DNA can prove you are innocent.
- Include your full name, mailing address, and GDC or AIS number (preferably at the top of the first page of your letter).

Please understand that we receive a large volume of letters.
It may take some time to receive a response from us.
Please be patient. Do not call our office and do not have your
family and friends call our office. This will simply slow down
our review process for all letters.
